I want to know Jesus

Have you read and understood about Jesus Christ here or elsewhere and want to give your life to Him?

If yes then read on.

Gods Word tells us;

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

“There is none righteous, no not one” Romans 3:10

But

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16

and Jesus is the only answer

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

So “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

Peace with God is within your reach. Say the following prayer out loud

Father God
I come to you in prayer recognising my need to repent. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is your Son, who died on the cross and that You raised Him from the dead. By faith in Your Word I receive salvation now.
Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen

Congratulations on your decision to ask Jesus Christ into your life! You have now entered into a personal relationship with Him.

As His child your loving Heavenly Father wants to give you the supernatural power you need to live this life (Luke 11:10-13)

All you have to do is ask, believe and receive. Pray out loud;

Father I come to you in the name of Jesus and I desire to be baptised with your Holy Spirit. I recognise my need for Your power to live this new life. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit, by faith I receive Him right now. May the anointing, the glory and the power of God come upon me and into my life right now. May I be empowered for service from this day forward. Thank you Lord Jesus for baptising me in Your Holy Spirit. Amen

Congratulations! You are now filled with Gods supernatural power and right now you may experience speaking syllables from a language you don’t recognise. This is known as speaking in tongues (Acts 2:3-4) which is a spiritual gift. It means speaking with words or in a language you don’t know in order to edify yourself and others. There are many people who receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and do not pray in tongues straight away. Do not be discouraged it will come. If you believed in your heart that you received then Gods Word promises you did (Mark 11:24). God always honours His Word believe it!

Now you may look in the mirror at some point and see that you still look the same and nothing has changed, but it is not your body that has changed but your spirit (see our teaching spirit, soul and body for more info). You now have the spirit of God dwelling in you. Have a look at this spiritual mirror which details many verses from Gods Word of who you are now are in Christ Jesus and how God sees you.

What just happened?

  • Christ came into you life (Revelation 3:20)

  • Your sins were forgiven (Colossians 1:14

  • You became a child of God (John 1:12)

  • You received the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13)

  • You received eternal life (John 5:24)

  • Your new life with Christ has begun (2 Corinthians 5:17)

What next?

  • Read, study, meditate in and memorise the written Word of God - the Bible (1 Peter 2:2, Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:2)

  • Pray (Matthew 6:6) prayer is simply talking with God. If you desire to know God more deeply, you must communicate with Him regularly.

  • Walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25)

  • Be baptised in water (Matthew 28:19, John 3:5) and

  • Become a member of a Bible believing, Bible preaching and Bible living church (Hebrews 10:25)

  • Tell others about your salvation (Matthew 10:32) and spread the Good News (Mark 16:15)
